children feel safe, listened to and cared for at every stage of their young lives.
We believe in providing comprehensive, holistic care for your child. We work closely with GPs and where necessary a dedicated team of paramedics to ensure that all aspects of your child’s health are taken care of. Our collaborative approach enables us to offer holistic support, from regular check-ups to more specialised care, always with your child’s well-being in mind.
If necessary, GPs can refer their patients to our practice for specialist paediatric care, ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to your child’s health.
Paediatricians see children from birth to 15 years of age by appointment only (online or by telephone).
You can contact the paediatrician for all general paediatric problems, vaccinations, illnesses, etc.
If specialist (paediatric) consultations are required, we will refer you to the appropriate specialist.
There are two waiting rooms in our practice, as we try to keep gynaecological patients and children separate. Please always take children to the paediatric waiting room (clearly marked with colours). If necessary, the children’s toilet and changing table can be used. Thank you for taking this into account.
The paediatrician can carry out blood tests at the practice. We try to make punctures as painless and anxiety-free as possible, which is why we use local anaesthetics such as Emla® cream or Rapydan® stickers.
Some very anxious children may be given laughing gas (nitrous oxide), in which case we refer you to AZ Jan Portaels.
For other examinations (e.g. imaging), we would also refer you to AZ Jan Portaels.
